Stonewall have commissioned another survey. This survey is to get a 'snap-shot' of the current confidence and satisfaction levels of Welsh LGB people in the criminal justice system before any changes, due to extensive financial cuts, are implemented. For example police spending will fall by four per cent each year for the next four years.

We (Stonewall Cymry) believe that over the last 10 years confidence and satisfaction levels in the criminal justice system has risen, and that the work of Stonewall Cymru has been one factor in this rise. Stonewall Cymru has been working closely with criminal justice agencies such as the police, Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and Victim Support. We will use the results of this survey as a measurement indicator of the last four years and a guide to further partnership work in the next four years.

Over the last four years Stonewall Cymru has worked with Welsh criminal justice agencies to raise awareness and understanding of the needs and issues of victims of *homophobic hate crime. We aim to increase the confidence of lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) people in those criminal justice agencies so that they will report homophobic** abuse and receive support, and go to court if criminal action is taken.
